Prior to food PRODUCTION the earth produced and provided the food for humans every bit as much as for other animal species and we gathered it…or hunted it…but we did not produce it. The earth was our Great Mother, a womb teaming with life…and we cooperated in hunting and/or gathering her bounty…and it created fairly little social division as there was a lot of symbiosis and co-operation in gathering nature’s bounty;whereas, food production meant enslaving animals, trapping them their entire lives in a hopeless situation that is going to end in slaughter…and planting and harvesting grain which, requires that, rich tyrants own and rule over the rest of humans as their slaves…and our jobs, although no longer mostly agricultural, are the heritage of this change.
